(NEXSTAR) — Another round of Big Lots stores, previously shuttered as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, are set to reopen this week.
This marks the third wave of stores reopening this year. In April, nine Big Lots stores reopened as part of a deal the retailer previously reached with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners. The deal stipulated that Variety Wholesalers would acquire hundreds of Big Lots stores, which would retain the original branding.
A much larger group of Big Lots stores, totaling nearly 60, reopened at the start of May.
On Thursday, over five dozen additional Big Lots locations will open their doors again.
“The Big Lots! stores opening in May show our continued commitment to providing the best value to our customers with apparel for the family, everyday needs for the home, kitchen, and pantry plus a huge selection of famous brands,” Lisa Seigies, president and CEO of Variety Wholesalers, said in an earlier press release. “I couldn’t be prouder of the dedicated team who made it possible for us to serve these communities again!”

More details about these stores, including operating hours, can be found on the Big Lots website.
Variety Wholesalers said grand opening celebrations for these stores are planned for the fall. The company previously told Nexstar that additional store openings are anticipated in June.
Several former Big Lots storefronts have been taken over by other retailers, including Ocean State Job Lot and Ollie’s Bargain Market. It’s unclear when those new stores may open. In other communities, the open stores are finding a life outside of the retail space. In Denver, for example, a pickleball facility is planning to open in a former Big Lots before the end of the year.
