Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot while speaking at a Wednesday event at a Utah college campus, authorities have confirmed.
Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, appeared to be struck by a gunshot in video from the event. After a shot fired, attendees ran from the event at the Orem campus.

- Campus authorities said a suspect is in custody.
- Bystanders said he was shot near the neck during the event, the Utah-based Deseret News reported.
As news broke of the incident, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle and right-wing pundits took to social media to condemn the incident.
“We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!” Trump said on Truth Social.
“Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father,” Vice President Vance wrote on social media.
