Live updates: Trump’s health takes spotlight; Johnson looks to quiet Epstein controversy

President Trump’s health was thrust into the spotlight on Thursday afternoon, as the White House revealed he had been diagnosed with has chronic venous insufficiency after an exam.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a note from Trump’s physician during a press briefing that detailed the exam. Trump underwent ultrasounds and a “comprehensive exam” that included a diagnostic vascular study.

Meanwhile, the Jeffrey Epstein controversy showed no signs of quieting as a GOP senator joined calls for all information to be released by the Trump administration, as Democrats protested the GOP’s advancing of two controversial nominees with a dramatic walkout.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is discussing backing a measure in support of disclosing more information related to Epstein, two sources told The Hill.

The House has a jam-packed Thursday, as it tries to pass the Senate-approved rescissions package, three crypto bills that caused hours of turmoil Wednesday, and a defense appropriations bill.
